WELCOME IN MY STUDIO: Watercolor paint and art supplies

Welcome to my studio. My name is Julia Sequoia, the artist behind SEQUOIA HANDCRAFTED, based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

My work focuses on handcrafted watercolor paint and thoughtfully made creative tools for artists and makers. Sustainability, small-batch production, and quality materials are at the center of everything I create.

I am also a full time teacher, a student at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver (currently on pause while balancing studio life), and a proud mom to three young adults.

I make watercolor paint exclusively from pure pigment and my own binder. Each batch is hand-mulled and slowly poured in layers over several weeks in my studio. My paints are made without fillers or extenders — just carefully selected ingredients and a strong focus on color quality and performance.

My ECO-PAINT line is created using the same pure watercolor ingredients combined with natural soil in the process. The eco-pods are molded without plastic in a rounded shape, offering a lower-waste option for environmentally conscious artists and crafters.

In addition to watercolor paint, I create journals, watercolor tools, creative kits, cards, calendars, and other small handcrafted items inspired by the natural textures and colors of the West Coast.
